Goalies Tryouts - All Goalies
- Goalies SHOULD still show up on their specific age group night, but will not be evaluated until this night)
- Those that are planning on trying out as goalie AND/OR Offense/Defense player must register as a Goalie at the initial signup. Then they will show up to be evaluated as an offensive/defensive player on the appropriate age-level night.)

Jerseys
Players MUST bring two jerseys to tryouts:
A light Jersey and a Dark Jersey
Jerseys should not have any type of identification on it such as name and/or player number.
Numbers will be given for players to pin on the front and back of their jerseys for tryouts.
Requirements to Register
USA Hockey registration for the 2024-2025 season is required before attempting to register for tryouts.
Choose Missouri as your state of play when registering (NOT ILLINOIS)
Checking in at tryouts
Upon arrival at the rink for tryouts the first night:
- Check in at the SYHA table to receive your ticket with your tryout number for anonymous score posting as well as the two numbers to place on the front and back of your jersey.
A member(s) of the SYHA Board will also be at the rink to help and answer any questions families may have.

Petitioning
Any player that wishes to petition to play a level higher than their age MUST:
- Register for their age level.
- Register for the higher age level they wish to play.
- And attend BOTH age-level tryouts.
An email MUST be sent to Dave Karraker at competitiveteams@springfieldkings.org for approval 10 days before tryouts.
Please include the following in your email:
1: Reason for Petitioning to a higher level
2: What the Player has done to prepare for such a move
(Note- Being approved to petition to a higher-level DOES NOT Guarantee a rostered position on the higher team.

Games
Teams will play 20-30 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends.

Goalie Discount:
Any Family on an SYHA Travel Team chosen to be a Full-Time Goalie (limit 2 per team) will receive a $100 discount on seasonal dues. (This will not compound with multi children discount).
Siblings Discount:
Any Family with multiple children in an SYHA Travel Program may be entitled to a $100 discounted rate. This discount would be applied to the lower of the two due costs.

payment options
Two Payments Options:
- Full Payment.
- Payment Plan: the first payment at the time of registration and 5 payments starting September 2024 through January 1st, 2025.

- Pay via Debit or Credit Card (2% Fee)
sponsorships
- Sponsorships can be applied towards travel season dues.
- Players/Goalies MUST be registered before practices start.
- Register via Crossbar and choose the Payment Plan Option.
- Adjustments can be made by the VP of Finance once sponsorship monies are received.
The Sponsorship Forms must be submitted with the payments to apply the funds received towards season dues.
Jerseys
Club jerseys are required.
Each player should have:
- Club white jersey with white socks.
- Club black Jersey with black socks.
- Black Hockey Pants.
- Black or White Helmet.
Optional:
- Reversible Practice Jersey.
- Warmups Jackets & Pants.

- Returning Players - Players returning from last season can keep their numbers if they desire.
Jersey numbers for New Players Only
- Jersey Numbers are are based on availability as well as birth year.
- Players born in even years will receive an even number and players born in odd years will receive odd numbers.
- Once registration is confirmed complete, you may select a jersey number from our "Clubwide Jersey Numbers". See screenshot below.
You may also send an email to verify if a number is available. Provide the following: Players Name, Birth Year and top three numbers.

Ron Stone Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Ron Stone, a member of one of the founding families of the SYHA who was a lifelong supporter of the organization, the SYHA received donations to support and develop our players. The family designated a scholarship to award players for the 2024-2025 Season.
· The Scholarship will be applied towards partial travel dues for the 2024-2025 season.
· Must be rostered to play.
· Scheduled payments will be modified once the scholarship award is applied.

Tara Strawn Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Tara Strawn, the SYHA received donations to support the players. Mrs Strawn enjoyed watching her grandchildren play hockey. The family asked to designate the memorial contributions to award players for the 2024-2025 Season.
· The Scholarship will be applied towards partial travel dues for the 2024-2025 season.
· Must be rostered to play.
· Scheduled payments will be modified once the scholarship award is applied.
